Pigmentation comes in all different sizes and depths within the skin. Most pigment forms as a result of UV exposure, hormones or injury. It is advised to treat facial pigment in the cooler months as unintentional sun exposure is often hard to avoid, and daily application of SPF sunscreen on the face or treatment area is advisable.
At Esq Clinic we treat varying types and depths of pigmentation on the face and body.
Our dual wavelength Q-Switch laser is virtually pain free, and is a much more comfortable alternative to Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) for pigmentation. We use 1064nm for deeper treatment, and 532nm for superficial treatment. This laser effectively targets pigmentation and it assists production of collagen and elastin, for tightening and rejuvenation. The Q-Switch is a fast working laser which minimally heats the inner tissue, which means that it is safer on darker skin types.
Q-Switched lasers are especially effective due to the selectivity of Q-switched light, enabling it to break apart pigments only and not cells. This means that pigment destruction can take place without ablating the skin.
